Imagine you are setting up your dream office... What would you include? What equipment would you purchase? How would your front office or retail section be designed?

I would guess much would depend on the financial resources available and what aid the hearing manufacturers would offer.

Set up an office in the Adirondack Mtn's and I'd be very inspired to give you my business :)

Prodigy -- It's a dream, money is no object (especially if Ben Bernanke is on your team... ;)

I'd be looking to put a Bose Acoustimass 10 series IV for the surround coupled to a juke-box so people could choose their preference.
A set of cymbals, trumpet, violin etc so that they could find out how the aid responds with those sounds - no, sod it, I'll suggest a full interactive media centre room with a 'sound gallery' to replicate every conceivable situation on the street/in the house/car etc.
Or I could just send them down the road to a cafe, shop, furniture store, car experience......

I've spent hours in my home theater tuning my instruments music program with the DVD "The Eagles: Hell Freezes Over". Even for my loss, it sounds like I'm in the middle of the band as they play, a truly remarkable mix. The problem is, I have not been able to find a disk of everyday sounds mixed in 5.1 for tuning my instrument for everything else. If you know of one, please post a link to it!

I'm not sure there is a 5.1 version outside of the Starkey Town one. The Winter Garden system from Oticon tries to do something similar too.
In all honesty, I can see the point of hearing Hotel California in 5.1, but when I need to demo a kettle boiling, it's probably best to be able to isolate and limit the sources to one location. 2.0 is enough for this. You can even have a band marching across the stereo spectrum if you like. I think my dad has an LP of steam trains which utilise this.
Just don't listen to the Beatles on it.....
