Has anyone tried both of these? From the documentation, it look like the S has a considerable advantage.

I trialed the Nadia (non-S) and wasn't impressed. My 2yo Rextons ran rings around them. The I tried the Wi's which did great in crowds but wife said I didn't hear any better at home plus the surflink and remote did't come close to comparing to the Rexton (siemens) Tek. I s/b getting Siemen Pure Carets the middle of next week if they don't 'float my boat' I will be trying the Nadia S CRT's. But, I suspect the Siemens will work for me. I know a couple of folks on here have the S CRT's.

Basic difference is the operating platform. The "S" is the newer spice chip (hence, the S) and the non-S is the previous chip.

Generally newer chips have better processing speed and are capable of more goodies at faster rates.

I, personally, would always get the newer chip.

How about sound quality? Is it worth to upgrade to spice products just for sound quality? I wear naida V sp and wonder if it is worth to upgrade to naida s V sp? I focus on sound quality on quiet environments.

Well I've had excellent results with the Spice chip. They have improved the sound processing and therefore it should result in better sound quality.

Thing is that sound quality is highly variable and different for each person so while it may sound a million times better for one patient, for another with an identical loss it may sound like complete junk.

My suggestion is to ask for a trial so that you can compare the S/Spice chip to the older chip. See what works best for you and go with that. It's really impossible to say you will hear more clearly when there's no real way to know. Sure, the potential is there for improvement, but it all depends on you, your ears, and your brain's ability to make sense of it all.
