I have been using ELI since Oct 2007 and have had it replaced twice since. I know that ELI has been discountinued and I am in need of another bluetooth product similar since it works so well for me. I have a 90 percent lost in both ears and usually the only way I can use my cell is to have it on speaker phone. With ELI I was able to hear conversations so much clearer and conversations could be more private.
Right now I am in MicroTech Radius 12, these too have been upgraded for the power for me to function and keep working.
Does anyone have any information on what I look into for ELI replacement. My hearing loss is so profound that the T-coil doesn't work for me.

Thanks!

Huh? Who told you this? What is the technical issue?

Nothing has ever been suggested for me to use since my percentage went up to the 90 percent loss. My audi said manufactor recommended ELI instead when I inquired about the loopset.

I could be completely wrong here, but I'd not heard the Eli was discontinued. They still have the web site up:

I can only access the consumer web site that doesn't have any real technical information I can find.

But could you explain, or show me a link to how the Nadia is an upgrade to what this person already has?

My audi told me this when I sent ELI for repairs in March.

I'm guessing Xbulder is referring to the Phonak Nadias with the ICOM unit. From experience, it is a great combination although I've never tried the Eli so I can't compare them fairly. If I remember correctly, the Eli had an extremely short battery life.

Also a question for ZCT. Starkey came out with this unit a few years ago now. Are they going to come out with some new and cool bluetooth device again?

I have not heard anything specific about Bluetooth. But I think that all manufacturers are actively doing a lot of work in this area. One day all high end hearing aids will have full Bluetooth compatibility built in. I'd imagine that all adjustments will be possible via a Bluetooth interface, and the hearing aids will pair with cell phones perfectly for easy use.

That's my prediction for the future.

Hi, I am a hearing impaired person and I have a 90% hearing loss also.

My company has created assistive listening devices for BTEs. We have both Bluetooth devices and headsets. They work really well for me, and many other hearing impaired people.

Please check out our website: www.directlinkone.com

Also, please feel free to ask me any questions directly.

I use this product myself and love it. (it was invented for me by my husband because i couldn't find anything out there that worked well for me.)

That's right, it is the best replacement right now, as it connects as both bluetooth and FM. Using a 3.5 mm jack to connect to other devices such as music players, TV, computer, etc.....a lot of fun here!!

In the beginning, I wanted to get either the ELI bluetooth or the MaxIT Bluetooth Neckloop. My counselor suggested the FM route, as I needed the extra hearing help for meetings. So there I ended up getting the Phonak Naida UP aids, Smartlink SX FM transmitter and one ML10i FM receiver.

I'm currently in the process of getting either another FM receiver or turning in my current receiver for a DAI connected FM receiver to work with the Phonak iCom.

My aidi said the ELI was a discontinued brand because they were working on newer bluetooth technology.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth#Future_of_Bluetooth

I forsee the use of low energy bluetooth for the new bluetooth receivers coming in the future, especially stuff like the old ELI technology

I'm sorry, I do not. I thought the MLxi was a generic term, but it's different from ML10i. MLxi has a three prong DAI connection, the ML10i is custom made to fit the Naida aids only. I will have to get another receiver to get what I want.

Lida, I just got the Hear Buddy...and so far, so good...haven't given it much testing yet. I see on your website that you're coming out with a stereo version...don't suppose you take trade-ins
