Hi all,

New to the board here.

I wear BTE's (Oticon Sumo) and I use my T-coil when I'm on the phone (landline and cell). The problem is -- whenever I use my cell, I encounter tons of interference (which all of you T-coil users already know about...). I heard that DAI is the best possible alternative, allowing the sound travel directly to your ear like a T-coil connection would, only without the interference.

That being said, does anyone know of any possible scenarios I can use my bluetooth phone, preferably wirelessly?

Does anyone utilize their DAI boots, as opposed to using t-coil, when using their cell phone?

One thing that was suggested to me was to connect my phone wirelessly to the Jabra BT3030, and use DAI-supported cords for my hearing aids (which can be attached to the Jabra). It's not exactly the wireless route I wanted, but I cannot think of anything better.

I am aware of the ELI, but the response is mixed (as seen on this board), and it's also very expensive. I see that Jabra is only 45 bucks on Amazon, and if I can use my ear hooks (which is my preference, as opposed to the neck loop), then I should be all set.

Sorry for the long post. Would love to hear your tip, ideas, thoughts, regarding DAI vs Telecoil, and using bluetooth completely wirelessly?

Thanks gang!

Check out this site. I use the Hear Buddy (connects DAI to phone). They also have bluetooth...though there is still a wire involved...just not as long.

your wear Oticon SUMO
you need get go back audi office request for:

- DAI
- Y 3pin plug 3.5mm

that way you can plug into your Jabra BT3030
doesnt need to buy ELI :)

if you want get bluetooth then you have to get two ELI plug into your Oticon SUMO which you still need to get DAI :)

your choose
- two ELI
OR
- DAI / Y 3pin plug 3.5mm

if you get ELI then you are waste the Jabra BT3030 !!!

ELI bluetooth may be hard to find now, because the manufacturer has discontinued the model.....at least that's what I have heard from my audiologist and other sources...

Some links are old, but I'm you can still get it somewhere. Starkey had told my audiologist that the product was being discontinued because they were working on a newer product. In that aspect, I would be scared to buy it, if a newer and better product may come out. There is now Bluetooth version 2.1 out there and also a low power bluetooth http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth#Future_of_Bluetooth in the process of development, but am not sure where this technology has its place in the hearing aid development world.
