I'm a 5 weeks Phonak Versata and iCom user. I have a couple of BTE Versatas, M in left ear (mild loss) and P in right ear (moderate to severe loss).

So far I'm getting used to them. Hearing and understanding has improved so much and they are quite comfortable to wear, even with my custom ear molds.

My question is about the iCom wich I use mainly for listening music from my Samsung mp3 when I walk. I use the direct audio plug with a very short cable I made and I feel very comfortable walking with the small Samsung T10 hanging from the iCom under my jacket or sweater.
The sound quality if we compare it with the bluetooth link is clearly better, though quite worse than listening at home with my Sennheiser HDR140 wireless headphones, perfectly covering my ears and HAs with no hassle and with a sound definition I didn't enjoy for a long, long time. :)

But when using iCom in the street, every song change means a short muting that causes the iCom switch from audio mode to normal mode, reseting the volume to default and then going again to audio mode when the next song starts. This is really annoying...

Does any of you know if this treshold of audio sensibility in the iCom can be modified in any way?

It's a common complaint with the iCom. The only way to fix it is through your mp3 player. Set it to have a short song transition.

Thanks for the reply, I could guess that...but I'm afraid I can't do that in my mp3. I'll check again anyway.

See page 5 of the above document:
"Audio lock
You are using the audio cable (jack) or an FM receiver.
But during a speaker pause or very soft music the audio
signal somtimes drops out.
Then press the ON/OFF button shortly to “lock” the
audio signal."

It appears that "audio lock" is encorporated into the iCom upgrade that came out last year enabling 'voice dial'. I had my iCom upgraded last November but was not informed about the 'audio lock' until I read about it in the above document yesterday.

Wow, good to know! I'd checked the documentation just a couple of months ago months after the upgrade, and found nothing on the new features. Thanks!

I'm new to the iCom and this is all good stuff. I have a Samsung P2 MP3 player and find the volume too low on the bluetooth, but only when I am on a Metro train I will try, some of this out.

I've had the same problem, and actually have the same MP3 player. :) When I'm on the train, I mostly use the audio cable and had the audi set my audio program to lower the volume of the mics on the hearing aid a lot more than I have it set on the bluetooth mode. I think on the bluetooth program, I had the external mic volume to -10, whereas for my audio program, I had it set to -20. Much better. Give it a shot.
