I will be trying a pair of Oticon Sumo DM in two weeks. My last audiogram is as follows:
Right Ear:
250-70
500-90
1000- 100
2000- 95
4000- 85
8000- 100
Left Ear:
250-55
500-70
1000- 90
2000- 80
4000- 80
8000- 95
Speech Discrimination (unaided) at 110 db Right 0% and Left 16%
Do you think SUMO DMs are a good choice?
What other Hearing Aids would be worth trying?
What should I expect in the way of improved speech discrimination from power hearing aids?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Oticon Sumo DM's would be an excellent choice. I have fit them on quiet a few adults and pediatric patients with great success.
In terms of improved word recogniton with the power hearing aids, it's difficult to predict. As it stands without hearing aids your word recognition ability is poor in both ears. I wouldn't be surprised if it went up a tad given your degree of hearing loss and the limits of audiometers. However, I also wouldn't be surprised if it stayed the same. Many have a hard time understanding the difference between "Hearing" and "Recognizing what we hear". What I tell my patients is this, "If you can't do it for yourself (in the booth), the hearing aid isn't going to do it for you when you step out of it". My advice is to you is have realistic expectations. If the hearing aids provide little benefit to you, then your audiologist or ENT should discuss Cochlear Implant options. Given federal guidelines, you would be a candidate, provided you are a healthy individual with no significant past medical history.

i have fitted tons of those instruments. they are pretty good,
However, I would not rule out a cochlear implant. Have you discuss this
with your ENT/Audi. Perhaps a sumo + cochlear implant might be a better choice 4 U
