Ok while I have lost a lot of hearing, I'm still interested in music and I'm wondering what you guys do at concerts? Are they bad for hearing aids.

I'll be swapping my old analog one for a more high end digital in the next few weeks, but after that I'll be going to see U2, Springsteen, Neil Young and hopefully when Dave Gahan recovers, Depeche Mode during the year.

Being very expensive would it be unwise to wear whatever new digital HA I get to concerts?

finovox I have not been to a true concert yet I find with my AH LOF turned to low volume helps make loud sounds easier to deal with then when unaided.

Your concern should be how concerts affect your hearing, more so, then how they affect your hearing aids. You say you've lost a lot of your hearing, if that's the case how will you hear at a concert unless you wear your aids. Digital aids should handle the loud music better at least as far as distortion goes.
