Just to let other users know...
If you have an iPhone 3gs (the newest iphone)
The operatimg system upgrade to version 3.1 (available 9/9/09) now allows the Voice Commands to be used via a Bluetooth headset.
This also works using your Oticon Streamer...
One Short press on the phone button of the Streamer will start the voice command program on the iPhone. From there you can control music & phone dialing.
One Long Press on the Streamer phone button performs a last number re-dial.
All other buttons work as before.
Have Fun!!!!

Does anyone know how to make this work with the iCom? I can start iPod app on the iPhone, but no combination of long, short, or medium presses will let me start the voice app.

Do you know if there's there any way to disable the voice command through bluetooth feature on iPhone OS 3.1?
The reason I ask is I have a an iPhone 3GS with OS 3.0 paired to my streamer, and I also have a Jabra A7010 paired, for my desk phone at work. With this setup...
1. If a call comes in on the iPhone, it goes to my streamer, and I can use a short press of the phone button on the streamer to answer.
2. If I initiate a call on the iPhone, it goes to my streamer
3. If a call comes in on the desk phone, I can use a short press of the phone button on the streamer to connect to the A7010, and then press the headset button on my phone to answer. It takes a few seconds, but works if I'm quick.
4. If I want to initate a call on the desk phone, I can use a short press of the phone button on the streamer to connect, then press the headset button on the phone and dial as usual.
(The streamer has been upgraded to handle the ConnectLine products I bought for home, I'm not sure whether or not that was necessary to make the above scenario work smoothly.)
Now, I'm not particularly interested in the new voice command through bluetooth feature of 3.1, if it would spoil my setup at work. I rely on the short press of the streamer button to connect to the desk phone. If it gets hijacked to connect to the iPhone voice command feature some or all of the time, that would be a problem. I don't know whether you can turn off voice command on the iPhone without turning off bluetooth altogether. And Apple don't allow you to downgrade from 3.1 to 3.0, so I can't safely test it myself yet.
I'm waiting on someone to come up with a way to switch back before I try 3.1 out for myself.
Ideally, it would be good if you could tell the streamer that one device has priority over the others, perhaps by virtue of the order in which you paired them. I'd like voice command to work when my desk phone is out of range.

The upgrade was necessary for this scenario...
Prior to upgrade, Streamer could not be CONNECTED to 2 phones at the same time.

Yes you will probably get Hi-Jiacked with short button press.
I think there was a way to re-program the Home button but I can't remember for sure.
You can turn off voice dialing thru passcode lock setting BUT the iPod Voice commands are always on.
I'll try pairing & connecting with 2 phones tonight & see what happens. I'll let you know..
I actually like the voice commands & use them alot. While I very seldom have to deal with 2 phones at once.

I've tested out my iPhone 3GS with version 3.1.2, now.
By default, the iPhone does seem to pick up and go to voice control when I press the phone button, even if the phone is in standby mode. (Screen off.)
However, like Squeezer53 said, I found that if you go to Settings -> General -> Passcode Lock, there is an option to turn off voice dialing when the phone is locked. To get into that setting screen, you need to specify a four-digit PIN, at least temporarily, but if you don't want to have to enter it every time you turn the phone on, you can disable it as soon as you've switched off the voice dialing option.
Now, if I want to connect to the desk phone, I just make sure I switch the iPhone into standby first. That breaks the iPhone's hold on the streamer "phone" button.
If I want voice dialing on the iPhone, I either move out of range of the desk phone, or switch its bluetooth off for a second, and that breaks the desk phone's hold on the button. I also switch on the iPhone and unlock it, if it's not already on.
The "Disable Voice Dialing" option appears to affect both voice dialing and voice control of the iPod, at least as far as I'm concerned -- it's sufficient to force the bluetooth connection from the Streamer to go elsewhere.
