Need hlp to see what you think about Opticon and their blue tooth system vs Widex and the Maxit sytem.
I am a new forum user and have been test driving the Widex Aid since August 16,2009..I feel I will overcome the problems we have been having with the Widex but Widex refered me to MAXIT for the outside vendors bluetooth sytem. If Oticon sell me their system with their aid..and their aid is as good as Widex I am leaning toward going with Oticon..Any thoughts abot It..thanks

the problem with widex is that is not an integrated solution.
Therefore it will not work as flawless as some other solutions, Oticon, phonak, unitron, bernafon for example.
So you know, Oticon is comming or should come with a new wirless system by april 010
while there are rumors that widex will have such solutions soon around that time

MAke sure the aid is as open fit as possible for your loss with a suitable high frequency fitting range to help with the tinnitus. The Mind's Zen function has been shown to be of no use in reducing tinnitus, so don't let this be a factor in your decision.

Zen I assume has 10,000hz bandwith, if so both instruments should be able to help with the
tinitus. A while ago, the extinct Vivatone, had an instrument with a Tinitus Program.
A good friend of mine said, General Hearing had some good solutions for tinitus (this is a really tiny tiny company). Finally, I have heard wonderfull things about neuromonics,
so it might be worth considering
