Volume of Cell Phones

I'm curious about something. Does anyone know what the typical volume level of a typical cell phone's handset is?

I look around the net and I see numbers like 25 or 30 or 35 db, but this doesn't make sense to me. With my loss, I would think that if a handset put out even 50db, I wouldn't hear it at all. Yet I can use my cell phone (LG Rumor) at full volume without my hearing aid.

Not well, mind you, but I can get by.

What am I missing ?

well if you can hear it with that loss without your aids then that's pretty good. My loss is profound and I hear nothing without using my telecoil.
