Just curious, has anyone heard any recent legitimate news on stem cell research?

I thought u.s. was waiting for ok from govt--for full use.Ro allow full technology use of
australia to follow after us has allowed usage.
I have recently has stem cell(and part way thru process) but mine is not for ears//--nose damage from accident--and doc has informed me the process will be much more efficient when some law passed. After u.s. allows/soon/ a 2 yr wait fro oz.
Sorry I am rather vague on details.
I have to wait 4 months before can be completed.A waiting game and slow process.Doc says when new law out//would be much more efficient and so much help for medical.Interesting, and really all new to me.Just 2 weeks ago I started first process.I wonder how long it would take in 2 years when medical clearance for use?

I have read a lot about "Chloe," who supposedly has had stem cell treatments by this RNL Bio (or whoever it is), and claims that she has had her hearing restored.
While I have seem lots of claims that it worked and that Chloe's case is legitimate (and I desperately want to believe it myself), I have really not read anything on the mainstream press about her case. All I have read was on a couple of blogs, and a press release on the RNL website (oh, and a couple of videos on youtube).
Chloe's case is confusing to me. I googled her parents, and they are legitimate doctors practicing in legitimate medical practices in the US. However, there is absolutely no mainstream press about her case. Now, I can understand wanting to protect her privacy, but it would seem that some national news service would have picked it up-or that her doctor would have written something about it. Furthermore, Chloe was treated a while ago-why haven't there been 100 more Chloe-type cases? And why haven't a fleet of US researchers descended on RNL to find out more?
Can anyone shed some light on this?

OK, I am guessing that there is no news on the stem cell front. It seems that the only people who post on here about this or that breakthrough in stem cell research make one or two posts and then they disappear. They will post some strange generic announcement (usually in poor English) Makes me suspicious...
It also seems that most of the posts make a bunch of unsubstantiated and undocumented claims. Like this "Chloe" girl. OK, so I have seen the interviews with her, but they are on YouTube-hardly a pillar of good scientific reporting. And then there's RNL Bio (or whoever they are) who supposedly did the stem cell transplant on this girl. They have a press release about the case, but no major news outlets ever picked it up. Furthermore, the doctors at RNL never presented any scientific papers or held any press conferences.
As much as I hate to say it this Chloe case looks like a scam (and I do hate to say it, bc I so want to believe it).
If I have offended anyone here, I am sorry. I would love for someone to challenge me here and give me some useful information. I would travel for stem cell treatment if I had any faith that it was legitimate.

W, why don't you go to Cloe's medical practice web site to determine their phone number, and then call them to ask that they indeed have a daughter who regained her hearing? I'd like to know what you find out.
Thanks.

This looks like it might be a legitimate trial in children
http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01343394?term=stem+cell+hearing&rank=1
I would think if the Envoy could work with a hearing aid they would market it that way, but ask the Envoy people.

i can drum... so i have been told.... have you tried abelton, soundcloud to make some noise? i wear phonax nadia v up...... but somehow, sometimes, people reckon i have selective hearing!!! they have no idea, i don't sign because all my friends hear, and I find it hard to pick up sign in the lessons, ever tried to look and lip read, and move your hands about?? but know a little bit.....
The only thing I ever read about stem cells for hearing loss is a British study on mice. I can only assume we are years away from a cure when they are not working on human, naturally deaf subjects. But the fact that somebody is studying it means before I die, a cure for sensorineural hearing loss probably will be on the market.
