sure, wtill waiting for them, trying out a pair of Phonak Naida S III, ordered a pair of Naida S IX, UP for myself. I think these may be more beneficial and comfortable than the Widex 440'S -- still yet to get the trial on the 440's though.

    Hello Rosie,

The debacle with the Be has virtually ended my relationship with Resound.

I have no issue with their standard ITE product, but the remote mic is a big problem. As far as I'm concerned, it's the weak link in the aid. I've had mics losing sensitivity, mic wires kinking and mic wires failing due to cemical/skin fatigue. Worse than that though is the problem of skin/wax ingress through the ports in the removable cap/guard on the end of the unit.

The real shame is that they sound great. If hearing aids only had to last 8 months I'd be still selling them - the fact is though, you want the aid to last 8 years. Realistically there's no hope of this.

    Regards

    Steve

Hi Steve...I have read a lot of your posts re:reverse slope loss and I am ready to get one Costco Vivid Stratus remote mic (I think it's the Be Resound ??)...wondering if this newer model will be better than previous ones...I respect your input and am grateful for this forum...not sure if I am writing you private or not...doesn't matter, just wanted some feedback on the newer be resound models....thanks! Rosie

Did they re-run the feedback manager ? - should sound like a white noise signal with a bar going across the screen. If that wasn't done, there's no set limit to the gain in any area. You need to establish if this has been done.

It's possible to manually regulate the gain, but you wouldn't necessarily know where to do that without the feeback test.

Find out if they ran the fedback test first, then make sure there's no wax, then allow them to adjust the gain again off the back of that info.

    HTH

    Hi Steve,

It's me again. I visited Costco today and the Rep was there so he helped with an adjustment. One thing I complained about was feedback after I change programs. He took a look after we made some other changes and said it should be OK. But it's not. I'm still having trouble with feedback when I change programs. I'm wearing the tulip tips in both ears. Do you have any idea what might be going on?

    Thanks, Shirley

No problems: the way describe the adjustment to Verites to my customers is by telling them they are like adjusting to new hard leather shoes. The first week or two you wear them, the feeling may be a little uncomfortable but persevere and you'll settle into them. I hope you find the same.

One thing to note, the Verite also features a volume learning function based on your adjustments, if you are using the push button to access programs it might be an idea to try a remote (not the full Soundgate if you don't want it) to control the output of the aid and give it an indication of your preferred level in different situations.

    Best of luck

    Regards

    Steve (Um Bongo)
