    I don't want to rubbish the study as any potential improvement is great news, but how many instances of SSD are attributed to loss of brain function/auditory cortex vs lower pathology issues? I understand that the brain can do some re-wiring after a TIA, but I though that other causes of SSD were far more prevalent.

    Yeah I was thinking that SSD can have several causes for different people. Maybe this research will lead to a cure for those whose SSD is caused by what they're talking about with the brain function. So this cure if it happens might not be for everyone with SSD.
