Default Infant Hearing Screenings

It is important that babies get a hearing screening as soon as possible. Research suggests that those infants who have hearing impairment and get intervention develop better language skills than those who don't. The earlier you know about deafness or hearing loss, the sooner you can make sure your child benefits from strategies that will help him or her learn to communicate.

Hmmm, too bad so many places have failed to couple up early testing with early intervention. Too many stories of "he failed the hearing test, bring him back in 6 months to fail another one then wait 6 months to see the specialist and in 2 years realise he's deaf then fail to do anything about it"

Only works if the test results lead somewhere.
