To update everyone--I am now going through all kinds of treatments because my doc thinks my hearing loss is caused by my lupus and/or an underlying infection and could potentially be fixed. He referred me to an ENT doc that I go to see next week. Should know in another month or so if the hearing can be recovered and to what extent, though I'm trying not to hold my breath. My doc asked me to hold off on HAs and give him a chance. Good news is the HA company gave me a refund with no trouble.

TBH I don't really care what's causing the problem. I just want to fix it. Was so close to having HAs---part of me wishes I had just gotten them and adjusted to that by now, though of course it would be a lot of expense and hassle, and I have to try everything I can to restore my hearing. (Sigh.)
