My dentisi prescribed Amox-TR-C-K a penicillin broad spectrum antibiotic for a minor tooth infection.
I am profoundly deaf. This drug had a POSITIVE effect on my hearing! Approx. 3db+ (estimated) improvement so far. Anyone know of any technical papers concernnig this drugs effect on hearing? The improvement could simply be the result of removing the very minor infection, but I think something else is going on.......don't know. Ed |

Hi ED121
Glad you found an improvement in your hearing. You may find that you had an underlying problem present with your hearing loss which gave you a 3+dB greater loss. The antibiotic just cleared that issue as well. Do you have and discharge or eustachian tube dysfunction? At the end of the day, it doesn't matter, what does matter is that you are happy.

No discharge. No apparent infection.
Wild guess: Perhaps the drugs inhibited the outer hair cells. Dunno. Ed |
