Most people who've noticed mine, and it's only a few in the last 3 months, have been supportive. To those who don't understand why I'd "want" hearing aids I usually us the annalogy of glasses. I can kinda see without my glasses, but I miss a lot of life going on around me that they let me see... the same is true for my hearing aids. Beyond that, as a teacher you owe it to the kids to hear as much as you can in the class room. Whether it's someone asking a question or someone being bullied you are doing the kids a favor by getting hearing aids. Also, I just traded my futures for forzas (was still in trial period) the forza is a much clearer sound for me and the noise reduction is awesome. I'm looking into getting the microphone for my wife / to use with music and tv.

TLDR; everyone benefits when you hear better and if a parent/teacher calls you four ears tell them your dad will beat up their dad.

Quote from source I cannot remember:

Chances are they are already gossiping about your hearing loss and will be happy that they don't have to repeat themselves as much.
In my experience, ears are pretty far down the list of what gets noticed first.
Also, people/colleagues will generally base their reaction off your own behavior. If you make a big deal about it, then they will too.

I wish I'd got mine earlier. Dealing with wearing HAs is so much better than dealing with not having HAs
