LOL sounds like it's a good thing I didn't buy it then. Will see if I can get my audi to show me one when hubby is around. He finds everything noisy. We did that mosquito hearing test thing and he can hear into the dog whistle zone! He is my go to guy for "Does this make a noise?" questions. Lots of things have had to get returned because they make a noise I didn't know about.

Unless it is next to his bed, I don't think he would hear it.

The zephyr is very quiet compared to the global with the light.
I had the global for years but when I first got it, it was next to me on my bedside table. I couldn't hear it as I'm completely deaf without aids but my mum and my bro were at my door in the middle of the night wondering what the noise was. The zephyr, my house mates can not hear it at all. As its small, I take it with me when I go away, I took it to my mums and she couldn't hear it as well. |

I've noticed that my Dry and Store has a strange bug in it. They make a fair amount of noise when I turn it on while empty. But when I put my HAs in it, it becomes almost silent.

I have the Global II Store & Dry, and it is sometimes quite noisy. I don't keep it in the bedroom.

Mine is dead-quiet. Only the tiny fan is heard, if at all, and on by dog-ears wife.

My Global Dry n Store is fairly quiet but it does have a fan that if the house is quiet I can hear it, but I keep it on a carpeted floor which attenuates some of the noise I'm sure.

I recently came across a dryer with a built in UV light that was quite inexpensive. I have been using it for the past couple of weeks and it seems to do the job. I just got fed up with having to bake little clay/silica beads in the oven every month or so to get them to turn blue.
This one is made by Serene and is called the "Renew Dryer and Freshener." It has three different programs that you can choose depending on the humidity of the air in the room. The potential problem I see is that it uses a low and gentle heat together with the UV to get the job done. I would guess that the heat may not sit well with batteries and could shorten their life. And I'd like to be convinced that the heat could would not damage the delicate circuitry of the HA's over time. Now, a vacuum chamber, would be nice! ______________________ Similar in both ears 250Hz 40db**********3000 70 500 45************4000 80 1000 55************6000 85 2000 70************8000 85 Presently using Phonak Ambra SP BTE which comes with TVLink/ComPilot package. Previously used Phonak Savia with SmartLink SX and ML9 receivers. Before that two sets of Oticon digital ITE aids that were marginally better than nothing. |

I expect the heat has no effect, because Costco's drier for the Bernfon heats the ha to dry it. |

Couldn't you remove the batteries from the aids before putting them in the dryer, if the concern for shortened battery life is an issue for you.
