I am afraid that, IMHO, herbs and vitamins have no effect on hearing, so no effective treatment uses neither.

I take these. My loss is still there but I found my hearing is clearer. :-)

I take ginko, too, and find it is also good for short term, long term, and short term memory.

Your body always responds to eating healthy. Jack LaLanne was proof of that and it improves the whole body, senses as well. But don't think there's any magic cure for sensorineural hearing loss. It's a gradual thing and something that one needs to accept and deal with. We just have to make the best of the technology that's available and stay positive. Remember, it's your health that's ultimately more important than anything else, so if you have that, everything else is a trivial matter.

my otolaryngologist have had me taking these for the last 6 months. oh and i also had intratympanic steroid injections a month before taking the tablets so, i'm not sure if this is a result from the ITS injections, vitamins or both. she says it's not much improvement but considering i haven't had any treatment for the last 26 years, it's very promising.

a little background, i have enlarged vestibular aqueducts on my left ear and profound unilateral hearing loss. i have normal hearing on my right.

i have only worn hearing aids from 16 - 20 y.o. i stopped for a couple of years and just started wearing them again. i'm 26 now. i have the siemens nitro 301 sp.

here are my results:

november: before ITS injections
freq ---- 250 ---- 500----1000----2000----4000----8000
AC ---- 105 ---- 110 ---- 110 ---- 120 ---- 120 ---- 110
BC---------------- 60 ---- 65-------- 80 -------- 75

january: after ITS injections
freq---- 250 ---- 500 ---- 1000 ---- 2000 ---- 4000 ---- 8000
AC---- 105 ----- 105 ----- 105 ----- 115 ----- 120 ----- 110
BC-------------- 60 ---- 75 -------- 80 -------- 75

july: 6 months after treatment
freq---- 250---- 500---- 1000---- 2000---- 4000---- 8000
AC----- 95------ 95------ 105------ 115------ 120------ 110
BC-------------- 60---- 75-------- 80-------- 75

The supplement business in the US makes lots of money, and makes many people sick.

Huge interest -- look how many viewed your post.

My advice: don't give more money to the supplement pirates, who have coopted the government to let them fleece the public. Spend your money on better hearing equipment.

not popular advice, these days, but well informed. I've been studying this for 50 years.
