I don't think it's limited to the US alone...but I'm not sure. I'd mention it to your audiologist and see what they have to say as they should know if it's something available where you are.

Visit the anausa.org for additional information. I read it through as my ENT discussed and provided brochure to me(way back June 2012).

I went to see the specialist yesterday, and after a year of hearing loss I have finally found a solution, the hospital has put on order a wireless CROS aid, by using a microphone on the bad ear it will pick up sound an transmit the sound to the good ear, so I wont be able to hear out of bad ear which I now know is 100% damaged from the inner ear infection I had and I will not be getting the hearing back. But at least the CROS aid will help me at University and with social situations.
I decided against the non surgical BAHA as this means that I would need to wear a tight fitting headband whenever I wanted to use the BAHA and this was uncomfortable, and I would happily wait for the surgery untill I find it absolutely necessary.

Was the Trans-ear not an option???

I have fit a number of CROS aids, there is little middle-ground with them, either people like them or they don't. I've had some amazing results with them...

Good luck!!

No the trans ear wasn't an option, The trans-ear does not ship to the UK. I did look at the trans ear website and it looks a great option only having to wear one hearing aid. And I hope they will become available in the UK. And thankyou!
