The case I use has 3 compartments. I usually keep two on each side and the center one is empty.

i put my spare battery in the oticon plastic box that came with the HA. i place the plastic box in my bag. so far no problems.

After some experimentation, I find that if I rotate the batteries out of the case...each time I need to change them out, use the ones from the case and replace them...I'm not having any problem with them.
